Xmas at Poppa and Mimi's

This weekend X got to spend some quality time with his Poppa Erwin, Mimi Cher, Uncle Aron and Aunt Vicki.

Three generations of attractive guys. (plus a good looking doggie too!)

Up on the balcony.

Daddy helping with the paper.

But once he got rolling...

Lambeau had to get in on the action too.

Lambeau and Xander also did some snuggling.

He was pretty worn out the next morning.

A great weekend! If only the Packers could have won... But alas.

Other stuff from this week

He scooted back from his play area to this spot in a matter of seconds/minutes. He doesn't crawl yet but he moves fast!

Finally got a decent shot of those new teeth!  Even saw that his left canine is also starting to cut through (which explains last night, poor guy).

Happy New Year!

Happy 2014!!!  I'm sure I could write pages on how awesome (and hard) 2013 was but that would require much typing and boring the crap out of everyone. I'll just say that Xander pretty much changed everything forever. We love him so much it boggles the mind sometimes. Tim and I both feel elated, exhausted and positively joyous about life right now. And, of course, a little bit scared about parenthood. We are settling into a good rhythm but there is always the fear that your dysfunction will screw your kid up for life. So much responsibility...

But I digress.

How about some stuff about Xander?

Here are the best shots I could get of his two front teeth. He is really trying hard to avoid getting them on film.

He's starting to figure out the sippy cup. Most of the time I still need to hold it for him though.

X loves banana but mashing it up simply won't do anymore. He'd rather just gnaw on a chunk of it. Better that than grinding his new teeth, which he does all the time. It's a completely cringe-worthy sound. Yeesh.

He has been trying a lot of new foods lately. So far we've offered:

*Apple chunks
*Banana
*Orange slices
*Mashed peas
*Frozen mango chunks
Avocado
Strawberry
Oatmeal
*Flavored rice puffs (the Gerber kind- vanilla and sweet potato specifically)
*Carrot chunks
*Sweet potatoes (chunks and mashed)
Lime (he loves and hates this I think)
Pear
Tomato

* This is stuff he really seems to like though he ate/tolerated everything listed. I haven't pureed anything except the peas once. I either mash it with a fork or hand him chunks. Now that he has four front teeth, he really wants to gnaw on stuff. Most of the time he doesn't want to be spoonfed and just tries to grab the spoon. So be it! He still prefers the boob to any solid food anyway.

Some pics on the bathmat yesterday. I didn't notice until now that his outfit matches the bathroom. I mean, I planned that...

Isn't he just ridiculously cute?  My word.

Play day with daddy

I'm off work today and get to spend it with my little man.

I think he likes his new toy from Lindsay.

Having fun on the play mat.

Skull sweater, nakedness and Rylee.

Hooray!  His front tooth finally broke through this morning!!!  Hopefully this will mean improved sleep and temperament for a little while. It's been tough but he's doing better already. I'll get a pic posted as soon as I can capture one.

I found this sweater on Zulily awhile back. It's one of my favorite things ever.

I just love this smile in the morning. It makes the whole day better.

(Almost) naked baby!

We think he looks like a colorful rabbi with this toy on his head.

With his best girly Rylee at the final Packer victory of the regular season.

Already copping a feel. What a pimp.

The wrapping paper is always the best part.

First Xmas

First Xmas for the Xman!  It's crazy that Christmas has already come and gone. We still have a few family celebrations to be had but the year is almost over already. And what a year it's been!

Here's a quick recap of celebrations this far:

Opening presents with auntie Trisha.

Xmas morning with uncle Dustin. The monkey puppet toy is an instant hit.

Watching The Grinch with dad.

Xmas at great grandma Marlene's.

Four generations.

Being cute.

Other randomness from the last week or two.

Hanging out on daddy's belly.

Almost crawling!!!

Even without crawling he managed to work his way under the crib.

He didn't like the orange slice...

Until he actually tasted it.

The playmat is a favorite toy.

One of the (very rare) shots of his new front tooth.

We are still waiting for that other front tooth to pop through. We can see it clearly under the gum but it is being damn stubborn about cutting through! We are hoping for a breakthrough in the next few days. Until then, I fear it will be some more hard nights for him and us.  At least during the day he still gives us faces like this.

*sigh* <3
