Thanksgiving weekend

I'm desperately trying not to write something silly or trite about Thanksgiving but it's difficult not to get all mushy. I will just say that I am thankful for so many things in my life. Out of everything though (health, house, food, etc) I am mostly grateful for family. Between Tim and I, we have a good sized extended family. Other than some typical family spats, almost everyone gets on very well and there is a lot of love to go around. Knowing all the craptastic families out there makes me even more grateful (and sappy) about it. I am just so thankful that we get to share this with Xander. Hopefully one day he will be thankful for it too. Did I also mention how insanely thankful I am for Tim and Xander? Because wow, a girl can't get much luckier than these guys.

Speaking of awesome family, Poppa (grandpa Erwin) and Mimi (grandma Cher) came up for the Thanksgiving festivities and spent the night. So, X got to spend some good quality time with both of them.

We wish they could have stayed longer but they had to leave by mid-morning on Friday. At least Xmas is just a few weeks away! Holy crap, is that right?!? Where has this year gone?

On another note, Tim has decided to grow a little scruff for a change. I like it. A lot. ;)  But at first X isn't sure what to think...

But in the end, I think he likes it.

Sharing a moment with Great Grandma Marlene at Jessica's baby shower. Perhaps they are discussing their next coordinated wardrobe.

Tim captured a few shots of X and me on the monitor last night when he wouldn't sleep. He was being so adorable, I couldn't even be annoyed.

Just some adorableness in the car seat. Note that this hoodie is a 12M and his head doesn't even fit in it anymore!

Let's end this post with a monitor shot of X sleeping with his booty in the air. Gets me every time!

6 month ped visit

Xander had his big six month doctor visit yesterday. He's a very healthy 19lbs 14oz and 28in long. That's 85th percentile for weight and a whopping 96th for height! His head size is still off the charts too. His ped also told us he is about to cut both his upper front teeth which explains a lot in regards to his mood and sleep over the last week. Poor little dude. Teething, a cold and a growth spurt all at the same time. It's amazing what these little guys go through and still smile most of the time. We could all take a page from their book.

Anyway, picture time!

Before we found out just how big he has gotten, we already had to move the jumperoo up to level two.

Loving up grandma during the Packer game.

He's sitting like a total pro now as well as flipping over in both directions with ease and frequency. We think he is going to be crawling in a matter of weeks by the way he is moving.

We've also been exploring new solid foods. He loves bananas and peas.

Target run today- first time sitting in the big boy seat.  I think he liked being able to see everything.

Watching the Thanksgiving video Diana made for FLG. I'd say he likes it!

Checking out the bathroom mirror.

Who does X look like?

I think it could be argued that he looks just like his daddy...

But he's got my eyes.

Maybe a bit of uncle Dustin too.  Though X has more hair.

He's definitely got a little bit of both sides. But all the cute genes in the pool!

6 months!

Our little man is a half year old today. He has gotten so big, so fast! He goes in for his six month checkup on Monday so that's when we will find out just how much he has grown. I'm excited and scared to find out!

What an insane, wonderful and scary ride it has been so far. I really had no idea what to expect from parenthood. I was never the one who dreamed of having babies when I was little so I didn't have some big expectation going in. All I know is that I look at him sometimes and just know he is the best thing I ever did.

Brewers, Packers and Doogers

He's destined to be a Brewers fan. A Brewers fan with a huge head. That's uncle Dustin's hat!

Creeptastic infrared crib view. Demon baby will live in your nightmares.

He was patting daddy's back while daddy was patting his. A really cool moment.

He's very entertained by the puppies in the office.

Packer game at Lindsay and Pete's new house. Look at the projection screen!!!

My little angel.

Crooked teeth and all

They are hard to capture on film but here is another look at those (crooked but perfect) pearly whites.

Ready for the game- as taken by gma Sandi.

His best Billy Idol.

Hamming it up with daddy.

As always, testing the world through his mouth.

Sitting like a pro (mostly). I've been keeping the boppy around him just for safety but he doesn't need it for balance.

Whoa. I just realized he's going to be 6 months next week.  8-O

Xman as Carnac the Magnificent... Carol Burnette, the Mona Lisa and the Leaning Tower of Piza...
