Halloween and Sunglasses

Xman's first Halloween!  We opted not to put him in a costume this year but got him this adorable set instead.

Here he was looking off into "nothing" and smiling. He also started talking for a minute, stopped, looked at me and smiled.

I also got his new high chair set up. I think he likes sitting at our height. Plus, how cool is he in these sweet sunglasses?  I seriously laughed my butt off for three solid minutes. Xander was not amused.

Teeth!

His first tooth came in a few weeks ago but the second front snuck in under the radar. Just spotted it today!

5 Months and First Corn Maze

Sorry for the long time without an update! The last week has been crazy. Xander hasn't been sleeping well and has been wanting constant attention. Teething? Growth spurt? Developmental leap? Who knows. The upshot is we are exhausted, including the Xman. He slept pretty well last night though so I am cautiously optimistic.

Anyway, on to the fun part!

Last weekend we took X to his first corn maze at Treinen Farm. We went with my mom and her BBBS "little" Lizzy.

We also visited Hecks and the CoJack Cheese factory- a long time tradition for mommy.

We finished off the day at Oakcrest Tavern for a burger. I love their burgers!!!  X was pretty beat.

For the Packer game, our dude got all gussied up in his velour track suit.

Our little man turned 5 months old on Monday!  I had a hard time getting good pics of him because he's been so fussy. He is cutting another tooth and it has been slow-going and painful for him. :(

He is also sticking his tongue out all the time (and I mean almost constantly). Not sure if it's teething related but it's pretty funny!

Xman riding Lucy in the office. Neither of them know what to think.

He has also started grabbing the bottle sometimes.

One of biggest things though is how well he is sitting up. He can often manage long stretches without much support. It's so exciting!!!

He also has fully mastered rolling back to tummy. He is still figuring out tummy to back but he's done it a few times now- including this morning when I watched him do it on the monitor while he was in his crib. So awesome. :)

Here's some randomness from the last week:

Family... Alive and Spirit

The other day X was in his swing and kept staring and smiling at nothing. (By that I mean he was obviously looking at something but nothing was there.) I know I can't be sure but I just had this feeling like he was smiling at my dad.

I'd like to think that my dad visits him sometimes. I know how much he would have loved the little man. I just miss him so much and wish he could be here to share in the joy. *sniff* :_(

Sigh.

On a lighter note...

Here's Xander hamming it up on the changing table.

He keeps doing this while I'm trying to change him. It makes it rather difficult!

He's not sure about this car ride.

At the office.

With uncle Aron after a Packers victory!

On a final note, if there was any doubt, Xman is officially teething. We can feel a lower middle tooth cutting through. Poor guy isn't happy about it so he's been extra fussy. But it's pretty exciting for us! Hopefully we will be able to capture a pic after it comes in. He'll barely allow us to peer in his mouth so I don't know how easy it will be.  Here's hoping!
