Kalahari and Timbavati

FLG did its annual strategy session this week at Kalahari in WI Dells and the Xman got to join us!

Very first day wore him out. 2 hour nap in the middle of the day!

Playing with Sarah and Dustin.

Passed out on daddy with his thumb in his mouth.

Xander is never truly happy unless he is standing.

Or in the Beco.

Xander also used this trip to learn how to roll front to back!  He's been able to go back to front for about a month but had never gone the reverse unassisted before. Huge milestone!

The Kalahari waterpark- Xman's first swim!  At first he wasn't too excited.

But he definitely warmed up to it- even if he never really knew what to make of it all.

His first waterslide was especially fun!

With grandmama.
Seriously- how adorable are those little Bermuda shorts?!?

Before we went home we swung by the Timbavati animal park in the Dells. Kalahari had free passes so we figured we'd see what it was all about. Many of the exhibits were closed for the season/construction but we had a bit of fun anyway. All of the animals in the park are under two years old including tigers, lions, zebra and giraffes. You can feed just about every animal in the park, too and they aren't shy.  We took the "train ride" which cost us $10 each.  It turned out to not be worth the money but since we didn't have to pay for admission, it wasn't so bad. The ride did, however, get us up close and personal with this guy; a 2 year old Eland.

There were also petting zoos and a nursery where we saw:

Baby kangaroos

A very sweet and funny camel

Deer (or Eland, can't remember which)

All-in-all a very fun trip for the little man (and his parents too)!

One last pic after we got back to Uncle Dustin's.
